About Physician James

James grew up in a traditional chinese medical hall. For as long as he can remember, his days were spent exploring herb drawers and helping out in the processing of herbs. He is the successor of an established chinese medical hall business and also a 3rd generation physician in a family with more than a dozen chinese physicians. His training as a physician began way before his TCM tertiary education. James graduated from the inaugural batch of the TCM double degree course jointly conducted by Singapore and Beijing. The course aims to groom "East-meet-west" physicians who will become bridges linking modern medical science and traditional Chinese medicine. Upon graduation, he took over the management of his family business and did his clinical work under the guidance of his father, who is a physician with more than 60 years of clinical experience.

Since his school days, James is a successful athlete and relied on only TCM modalities to treat and manage his own injuries. This sparked off his interest in TCM Sports Medicine, he is well versed in using acupuncture for the treatment and management of sports related injuries. James volunteered as a physician weekly at the 大众医院 public free clinic headquarters for 2 years and also held the appointment as an assistant lecturer for TCM diploma courses in the free clinic. He participated actively in health events at community clubs, speaking about TCM at health talks for members of the public. In 2011, James is a participant of the International Conference of Chinese Medicine held in Beijing, it is a global event which sees physicians from different countries coming together for the betterment of TCM and to discuss on TCM health issues such as diabetes management.

James views TCM as a way of life, he believes that prevention is better than cure and is big on using herbs to improve the body's ability to fight diseases.
